How I Lost 40 lbs (and Kept It Off) For Seven Years and Counting…

I dropped about 40 lbs seven years ago in the span of about four months, and I have successfully kept it off (as of April 2024).

Back in 2017, I was around 240 lbs.

Now, I am down to about 200.

I am 6'3", by the way, so I am a healthy weight for my height.

Here are some before and after pics (because everyone loves those).

The top left is me in 2022 in Costa Rica; the top right is me in 2018 in New Westminster, BC; and the bottom right and left show the 2000s in Calgary, AB.

I should preface that I am not too concerned with the actual weight numbers (like exactly how much I lost and what I weigh now) or posting shirts-off pics to show off my physique. I don’t care about that, but people like seeing numbers in the title.

What I do care about is how I feel. I care about being healthy. And that’s what I wrote about.

This article is packed with everything I did to lose some weight and feel better about myself, as well as tons of linked facts about what I did and still do today.

I am also not going to sugarcoat my weight loss and health journey by saying I used some magic formula, pill, or machine to get where I am today.

I don’t believe anything good in life comes easy, and living a happy, healthy life is no different.
